WELCOME TO LEMONADE DAY!

Lemonade Day is a fun, experiential program that teaches kids how to start, own and operate their very own business - a lemonade stand. As a teacher and Lemonade Day mentor for your students, you have the opportunity to lead them through the Lemonade Day experience, helping them to learn and discover invaluable business and life skills.

Several of the Lemonade Day lessons also directly relate back to the academic standards that you're covering in your classroom.
(See Common Core and TEKS standards and how they can be fulfilled through the Lemonade Day lessons.)

FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO IMPLEMENT LEMONADE DAY IN YOUR CLASSROOM!

STEP 1: DETERMINE YOUR TIMELINE

How much time to you have to implement the program?
Use this timeline to help you determine how to break up the lessons based on your time frame.

STEP 2: CONSIDER YOUR UNIQUE CLASSROOM

All classrooms are different when it comes to environment, class length/frequency and access to materials and resources.
Use this Best Practices Guide to help you implement Lemonade Day in a way that works for your classroom scenario. Utilize the My Journal as an offline companion for students as they work through the Lemonade Day lessons.

STEP 3: GET STARTED

Use the Teacher's Guide to help you plan your lessons and expand upon concepts.
Everything you need to teach the Lemonade Day lessons including discussion questions, implementation ideas and extension activities can be found in the Teacher's Guide.

STEP 4: GET THE PARENTS INVOLVED

If possible, let your student's parents know about Lemonade Day and what they're learning in the classroom.
Invite them to get involved by volunteering, purchasing lemonade, reinforcing the lessons at home, and/or participating with their child as part of the community-wide Lemonade Day event. Use one of the following letters to inform parents about Lemonade Day: Letter 1/Letter 2. You can also use this invitation to invite parents to learn more about Lemonade Day and/or get involved in the classroom.

STEP 5: LEMONADE DAY!

Put the Lemonade Day lessons into action by hosting a Lemonade Day with your students.

STEP 6: YOU DID IT!

Congratulations to you and your students on a job well done!
Be sure to submit Business Results on behalf of your students or help them to submit results online.
