National Best Tasting Contest Scoring Criteria

Lemonade Day National will score contest entrants by assigning them a score of 0-5 points for each of the criteria below (maximum of 20 total points). 

Lemonade Day National will then re-create the top three finalists’ recipes (those with the most points) in order to make the final judgements on both taste and score.

Scoring Criteria for Recipe:

1. Creativity (0-5 points)

  • Does your recipe include imaginative, complementary ingredients?

2. Originality (0-5 points)

  • Does your recipe include ingredients that really make your lemonade stand out from the competition? (Did you use [an] ingredient[s] that few/no other entrants used?)

3. Clarity of ingredients and measurements (0-5 points)

  • If someone wanted to re-create your recipe, would they easily understand which ingredients they need and how much of each?

4. Clarity of instructions (0-5 points)

  • If someone wanted to re-create your recipe, would they easily understand exactly how to do so?
