Over 1 Million Kids Involved: How it Happens

As Lemonade Day Season 2017 quickly approaches we’d like to thank all of the community members who make the program possible.  With their help, we are working to teach every child across North America the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, improving financial literacy and equipping kids with the tools to make their own opportunities in life, now and in the future.

There have been over 1 million kid entrepreneurs who have participated in Lemonade Day.  Making this happen is a tremendous feat.  They say it, “takes a village” and with Lemonade Day that couldn’t be more true.

Girl Scouts

Area Schools and Youth Organizations

Scores of kids are taught the Lemonade Day program at elementary schools far and wide and also through youth organizations like the YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs, and Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts.  Schools and Youth Organizations are important partners in helping kids learn business skills, character development, responsibility, financial literacy, goal setting and teamwork taught through Lemonade Day.

Local Businesses

Every year, local businesses across the country support Lemonade Day entrepreneurs by allowing them to set up their Lemonade Day stands in front of their storefronts.  Businesses and their employees also serve as investors and mentors, helping guide children through the process of starting and running their own small business, a lemonade stand.  These local businesses include banks, grocery stores, retail stores and more, and we are thankful for their continued involvement in supporting young entrepreneurs.

Chambers of Commerce

To make Lemonade Day happen, each city needs someone to hold the torch and advocate for its success.  In many Lemonade Day Cities the local Chamber of Commerce holds this vast responsibility and serves as the organizer, fundraiser, and chief organization in charge.  We are grateful that so many Chambers of Commerce believe in the power of Lemonade Day in laying the groundwork to grow our kids into future business owners and community leaders who contribute to building healthy communities.

Brooke Fire Department

Local Governments

From the Mayors office to Parks and Recreation and the Health Department, local government is a key supporter and participant in Lemonade Day.   Whether it be a Mayor’s proclamation that kicks off the program and lends support, the Parks and Recreation group opening community parks to the children to set up their stands, or the Health Department issuing health permits waivers —Lemonade Day wouldn’t be possible without their vested support.

With sincere gratitude we thank the range of dedicated participants who support Lemonade Day kids.

If you are interested in participating in Lemonade Day as a volunteer or partner, please contact your local city or email us as info@lemonadeday.org and get involved!

About Lemonade Day

Lemonade Day is a non-profit dedicated to teaching every child across North America the business and financial skills that are the key ingredients of entrepreneurship. By learning these skills early in life, children will be better prepared to be successful, financially healthy adults. Through our fun, hands-on program Kids K-5 are empowered to start their very own business—a lemonade stand—and experience the feeling of earning real money, using 100% of their profit to spend, save and share based on their own goals.

Lemonade Day is in 62 cities throughout the United States. Over the past 10 years, we have served more than 1 million kids in our kidpreneur programs and in 2016 alone, 101,000 kids participated in Lemonade Day.
