Location, Location, Location!

Ever wonder how businesses choose a location for their stores? Or--why certain products are featured at the end of the grocery isle? Choosing the perfect place to locate your business is a key factor in ensuring success. For a lemonade stand, some of the important questions to ask are:

  • Do people pass by that location during the day of your stand's operation?

  • Is there a place for people driving by to stop and buy your product?

  • Can you locate outside of a busy store for that day?

  • What are the peak hours that people visit this location?

  • Is there a sports game happening on the day you want to sell your lemonade?

Scouting out your potential location is important--but be sure to do it on the same day of the week that you will be selling! For instance, downtown business areas are filled with people on weekdays--but may be empty on weekends! Remember--Always ask permission to put your stand in front of someone's business or private property!
