Celebrate Lemonade!

Lemonade Day Kids

It’s Lemonade Day! Now, we know what you’re thinking…wasn’t that back in May? Well, it was! In May we also celebrated a National Lemonade Day. Youth from across the country got a taste of entrepreneurship by opening up their very own business – a lemonade stand. Leading up to our Lemonade Day, youth were taught the business and life skills necessary to prepare them for success at their stand. The Lemonade Day lessons cover everything from creating a budget and business plan to learning how to provide great customer service. Communities across North America rallied in support of their youth by waiving permitting fees, offering safe stand locations, and purchasing lemonade from the newly minted entrepreneurs.

Today is in fact also Lemonade Day! August 20th is a day to celebrate and recognize the lemonade itself; that delicious, refreshing beverage that we all know and love. You may not know, but lemonade has been around since the mid-17th century! Rome and Paris were buzzing with lemonade vendors on every street corner (Read more about lemonade history here). The fact that the iconic drink and lemonade stand enterprise have been around for this long must mean they’re here to stay!

We hope you take the opportunity today to enjoy some lemonade, in all of its sweet glory. Perhaps you might even consider doing some taste testing to get ideas for your newest product. Regardless, take a moment to appreciate lemonade, recognize the entrepreneurial spirit of young lemonade stand owners, and stay tuned for some great things we have happening for our Lemonade Day in 2018!

Cheers to Lemonade Day!
