BY STEVEN GORDON, LEMONADE DAY NATIONAL PRESIDENT
Last week I announced our organization’s plan to allow kids to still “host” a lemonade stand, put our Lemonopolis lessons into action, run their business, and have some fun with friends, family and their neighbors.
While our 2020 Lemonade Day Season looks a little different because of the coronavirus, we believe every child still can participate in Lemonade Day. My national team has been hard at work developing promotional materials to demonstrate that challenges can produce opportunities for innovation, change and growth. Lemonade Day My Way helps kids host a real lemonade stand or a virtual lemonade stand while maintaining social distancing and other health and safety guidelines. Kids are encouraged to “save some, spend some, and share some” of the profits with a cause that matters to them.
Lemonade Day My Way - Stand Options
Kids can register to participate in Lemonade Day My Way for free by visiting https://lemonadeday.org/find-your-city. If you are not in a Lemonade Day city, you can participate through our Raising Cane's partnership by visiting https://lemonadeday.org/raising-canes. Kids can access the Lemonopolis online lesson program from any device anytime from anywhere. Lemonade Day My Way participants will have the option to enter contests to win new bicycles and funds to start a future business.
I will continue to provide more information as we get closer to our Lemonade Day My Way weekend, August 20-23. Circle the dates on your calendar today!
I also want to let everyone know that The Lemonade Day National Best Stand Design Contest sponsored by our partner Brother, has been extended by two weeks! The submission period will now end on Monday, June 29th. If you have not yet submitted your design, click here for more information about the contest.
Now and always, thank you for being a Lemonade Day fan and follower. Please check out www.lemonadeday.org for information and updates and follow us on our social media platforms.
I welcome your comments, questions and suggestions. Please send me an email at any time at Steven@lemonadeday.org.
In the meantime, stay great and stay safe!
