STOCKING UP FOR LEMONADE DAY
Hopefully you’re starting to get excited about setting up shop on Lemonade Day! One thing to take into consideration as you prepare for the big day is the costs of all the supplies needed—they can add up and eat into your profits! However, a little bargain shopping can keep your supply costs low and allow you to maximize your money.
Below is a list of must-have supplies you’ll need on opening day, along with suggestions for where to purchase these items at a discounted price.
Supplies You’ll Need
Where to Buy Them
Amazon.com: If you prefer shopping online, Amazon is a great place to find pantry supplies for less, including cups, napkins, coolers and pitchers.
Dollar stores: Pantry supplies are also available at dollar stores and can usually be found at incredibly low prices. You may also find poster board or other types of signs here.
Wal-Mart: This is a great one-stop shop for all your supplies, from pantry items to food to signs.
Crafting stores: Places such as Michaels and Hobby Lobby have frequent sales, and you can find great deals on poster board, foam core and other signage materials.
Supplies to Consider
If you have money left in your budget after you’ve bought your essentials, you might consider investing in a few extras.
Lemon slices. Slice them up and put them on the rim of glasses so customers can squeeze their own fresh juice into their lemonade.
Straws. Put these in a canister for customers who would like to sip from a straw.
Flyers. Pass them out during your free time and before you set up your stand.
Decorations. Add a little flair to your stand with decorations such as crepe paper, silk flowers or any items that go along with your theme.
