05/26/2020: "EVEN A PANDEMIC DOESN’T STOP YOUTH ENTREPRENEURS FROM GETTING CREATIVE" National Creativity Day {Lemonade Day National Blog Post}

Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” Over the years, we have watched kids excited about running a lemonade stand show their creativity in ways we couldn’t imagine. We are seeing creative and imaginative ideas while kids across America await their opportunity to participate in a childhood rite of passage – a lemonade stand. To celebrate National Creativity Day on May 30th, I wanted to share some creative ideas.

Lego Stand

Check out 10-year old Hunter’s Lego lemonade stand. While Hunter is patiently waiting to participate in Lemonade Day Fort Hood, Texas, he designed a stand to best understand how his clients would experience his business. His tips – just use anything you have around the house to create a 3-D model of your stand. Thanks Hunter!

Hunter’s tip to build a 3-D model of your stand is a great reminder that we have partnered with Brother Corporation on the National Best Design Contest. More information can be found here.

Lemonade Day Bismarck-Mandan is offering registration and pick-up from the convenience of your car. What a great way to get the kids out and start their minds dreaming about launching a business and spending some profits, saving some profits and sharing some profits.

Some Lemonade Day kids even take their Lemonade Day experience and develop full-fledged businesses. We launched our Lemonade Day Experts Explain Series of videos hosted by star alumni to complement Lemonopolis. What better way to absorb the Lemonade Day principles than to hear from those who have gone through the program and started their businesses. We’ve gotten some great feedback on this video series so if you haven’t watched them yet, click here to view them and get inspired.

If you follow us on social media, you will also find our LemonLingo posts that breakdown the tips and techniques discussed in our materials. Lemmy uses LemonLingo to help kids learn the principles business owners use in the operation of their businesses.

Let’s spend some time this week getting creative (#NationalCreativityDay), designing your stand, and submitting your ideas (#BuildaStandContest), learning from the experts (#LDExpertsExplain), and adding some new vocabulary to your business skills (#LemonLingo).

Please share this blog with your friends, family members, and co-workers. All of us at Lemonade Day appreciate your support!
